Full Job Description
Are you passionate about the role that culture, heritage and creativity can play to transform the lives of young people and communities like ours in Redditch and Bromsgrove? Do you have a strong background working in partnership with others to make a tangible impact in communities ? Bromsgrove District Council seek an energetic and suitably qualified Project Manager to lead the delivery of the ReNEW (Rediscover North East Worcestershire) project between now and the Autumn of 2027. The project is resourced with a £550,000 Arts Council England National Lottery Place Partnership Fund, further contributions from Redditch Borough and Bromsgrove District Councils, the National Trust, and a broad range of committed partners who make up the Cultural Compact for North East Worcestershire. The ReNEW Project has two core aims: 1. To develop the creative skills and industry potential of local young artists aged 16 and above, by providing applied training, mentoring and industry-specific co-production experiences. 2. To build ambition, capacity, and long-term sustainability within the Local Cultural Sector,improving its ability to serve local communities. Key Requirements
- Manage and deliver the project, its key outputs and your team (made up of a Skills Development Coordinator and two Learning and Participation Apprenticeships).
- Procure, negotiate, issue and manage high value contracts and agreements in accordance with Council procedure.
- Develop and maintain strong, effective relationships with key partners and stakeholders, including funders, local elected members, local and national arts and culture organisations and partners from the Cultural Compact for North East Worcestershire.
- Produce and implement strategies to ensure diverse engagement from key target audiences: young people aged 15 - 20 years, isolated older people, lower socio economic groups, families with older children.
- Represent ReNEW and the project in a range of contexts- with press, funders, local and national partners, artists and councils. To act as a key spokesperson for the media as required.
Effective leadership, line management and team building skills Excellent stakeholder engagement and advocacy skills in a range of settings (eg grass roots communities, business, health, environment, youth) Significant experience of financial management, procurement and budget control. Experience in all aspects of arts and culture project management at a similar scale An understanding of and commitment to diversity and inclusion and environmental responsibility Experience of operating in a politically sensitive and complex organisational setting Qualified to degree level in an arts, culture or heritage subject or equivalent levels of industry related experience - pension
