Full Job Description

In you role as Remuneration Team Manager you will be responsible for managing and developing the Trust's Electronic Staff Record (ESR), ensuring benefits realization, best practice, and integration across associated systems i.e. Payroll. Your role reports to the Head of Establishment Systems Team, and will include managing and developing systems and processes to ensure ESR and associated systems are effectively deployed and used productively across our entire Trust, providing an essential data management function for our Trust, and ensuring timely workforce and payroll management of all employee groups. You will provide leadership to the Remuneration Team, ensuring that the team delivers an effective, efficient and customer focused service, which meets the challenging and changing needs of the NHS, the organisation, its managers and employees whilst delivering key objectives. Working closely with the EST Reporting Manager, you will ensure that quality checking for our staffing structures/hierarchy is in place, and that ESR is updated with all establishment and employee specific changes. You will be expected to travel to any one of the MSEFT sites as required for meetings., Essential parts of your role as Remuneration Team Manager are ;

  • Provision of transactional services that are fully compliant with national guidelines and local policy requirements including GDPR.
  • Providing the lead operationally in the liaison with the Trust's payroll provider.
  • Leading and managing our Remuneration Team.
  • Providing support, advice and guidance to your team with regards to technical aspects of ESR, workforce structures, pay and grading.
  • Supporting the overriding requirements of the function and our Trust by demonstrating the ability to work in a flexible independent manner.
  • Providing training and advice to managers and key stakeholders as appropriate whilst managing relationships, regarding terms and conditions, pay awards etc.
  • Providing highly developed and effective communication skills in dealing with complex information.
  • Analysing, interpreting and advising the Trust on the impact of pay circulars, Agenda for Change amendments, incremental changes to the workforce and highly complex issues/problems relating to payroll data, formulating action plans where required to address any identified risks.
  • Ensuring that key performance indicators are monitored monthly, and any challenges escalated appropriately.
  • Compiling and presenting reports and analysis as required to key stakeholders, at all levels of the Trust, providing assurance that the project is delivering on the business case objectives., Are you up for the challenge of this varied, interesting and rewarding role, then we would love to hear from you, please see the attached Job Description., Effective communication and interpersonal skill, able to deal with Managers and staff at all levels efficiently and courteously and in a confident and assertive manner.   • Able to produce and develop complex and intuitive management reports to monitor utilisation, identify themes and trends and performance compliance

    Educated to masters degree level and/or equivalent level of experience working in a leadership role with workforce systems/Payroll, In depth knowledge of ESR//workforce Systems
  • Significant experience of managing workload in a workforce/finance systems function and agree solutions with service users and across the Trust and give advice
  • Significant Experience managing workforce structures, data reporting and information management, Experience of working within a payroll function
  • Understanding of workforce metrics and KPI's
  • Communication Skills,
  • Excellent Windows IT skills, including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and in particular, Excel
