Team and Responsibilities

The Developer Platform team builds internal tools and platforms that improve the velocity, quality, and developer experience of Synthesia's engineering teams. They own developer productivity (from code commit to production), developer insights and SDLC metrics, developer infrastructure (CI/CD systems), AI-assisted QA/testing, and AI-assisted development. AI Adoption has grown to over 90% of employees with 100% adoption in engineering in the last 8 months.

You'll have a significant surface area and real ownership from day one in making Synthesia's engineering processes faster while maintaining quality in this AI-driven era. You will work end-to-end, owning architectural decisions that govern how features are built, released safely, and supported long-term. You will lead projects spanning quarters, breaking down complex problems into validated milestones. You are responsible for the operational health of systems you build and will utilize data to inform decisions on iteration, maintenance, and deprecation.

Qualifications and Experience

• At least seven (7) years of experience as a software engineer, with at least 2-3 years in senior/staff roles.


• Proven hands-on experience building and operating developer platforms, CI/CD systems, observability/metrics infrastructure, code quality automation, testing infrastructure, and developer tooling.


• Experience shipping infrastructure or tooling that improved developer velocity or reduced cognitive load.


• Previous experience leading the adoption of AI-powered developer tools across an engineering organization.


• Experience in high-performing engineering organizations where infrastructure choices have directly impacted team velocity and product quality.


• Experience integrating third-party services (APIs, SaaS tools, external platforms) into internal systems with attention to reliability, security, and user experience.


• Understanding that platform and infrastructure work directly support commercial outcomes.

Interview Process

• 45-minute call with an Engineering Manager discussing your past projects.


• 90-minute Product Discovery/Implementation and collaboration exercise with our Engineer (not a LeetCode-style challenge, in Python).

Preference for this role is either in-office or remote in the following locations: We may support remote workers elsewhere in Europe, subject to compliance and right-to-work checks. This is full-time employment only—no contractors, usually through OysterHR.
