We are looking for a Staff Backend Engineer to join our Grafana Backend Services squad. - You have solid backend development experience, ideally with Go.
- You have a good understanding of storage solutions, especially relational databases such as MySQL, SQLite, and Postgres.
- You care deeply about developer and user experience, and the quality of the products you work on.
- You have experience delivering projects from gathering requirements and brainstorming ideas through to shipping a product to customers in a self-driven way.
- You have experience writing clean, robust, and performant software that is easy for others to maintain.
- You have experience mentoring junior engineers in a collaborative, asynchronous environment.
- You enjoy working on complex solutions and can break down challenges into modular, iterative delivery.
- Bonus: experience with open-source software or commercial open-source companies.
- Bonus: experience working with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Bonus: experience with CI/CD, DevOps, or Developer Efficiency work streams.
- Bonus: experience using Grafana and Prometheus in operational roles.
- Bonus: familiarity with on-call duties and operations/SRE tasks.
- Bonus: exposure to microservices architecture and distributed systems, or a desire to learn.
