Job Responsibilities

• Perform quality control tasks and on-demand translation tasks


• Take on linguistic lead functions on assigned projects


• Coordinate the activities of a group of translators for assigned accounts or projects


• Train and develop freelancers


• Ensure that the work is performed at a satisfactorily high standard within the specified deadlines and quality levels


• Ensure the Language Process is being followed by the project/account team


• Perform quality control tasks on assigned projects or accounts (EN)


• Perform on-demand translation tasks (EN)


• Perform trans-creation, translation, and post-editing tasks (EN)


• Perform other translation-related admin tasks (EN)


• Manage project-related queries


• Prepare, manage, and maintain the language materials (including glossaries, style guides, work instructions) up to quality standards and keep them up to date


• Interact with clients on linguistic matters as required


• Develop and train new and existing freelancers according to the accounts and Welocalize’s needs


• Ensure good interaction among team members and resolve questions on terminology and language matters


• Achieve the goals set by the French Team Lead

Qualifications

• University degree in Translation/Applied Languages or an equivalent combination of education and experience


• 4+ years of relevant experience in the translation and localization industry


• Fluent in French Canadian (native level), both written and spoken, and fluent in English


• Experience as a translator in Mobile Apps, Search Engines, IT Consumer Products, Entertainment, Marketing, Software UI, Websites (preferred)


• Excellent feel for language (source/target)


• Excellent user experience with standard software such as Windows, Office applications, and standard CAT tools


• Ability to work in a virtual team
