About the Role You will be responsible for delivering a high-quality security service, protecting people, property and assets while ensuring full compliance with site procedures and customer expectations. Job Overview

  • To protect the customer's property, people and/or assets by delivering security services in line with the site's published Assignment Instructions (AIs) and any subsequent updates.
  • To consistently meet and/or exceed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs), taking full responsibility and accountability for performance and contributing to the ongoing retention of the contract.
  • To actively engage in training and continuous self-development to maintain and improve competence within the role.
  • Main Duties Operations
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and relevant legal and regulatory requirements, as directed by the Security Account Manager and in line with UK legislation and guidance.
  • Complete all tasks and duties as outlined in the Assignment Instructions (AIs) to a consistently high standard.
  • Regularly review Assignment Instructions to remain up to date with any changes and proactively suggest improvements to enhance service delivery.
  • Maintain full compliance with industry and statutory requirements, including holding a valid SIA licence (Security Guarding or Door Supervision), which must be worn at all times whilst on duty. A CCTV (PSS) SIA licence is also required as per customer requirements.
  • Complete any additional contractually required training courses.
  • Follow all instructions and procedures appropriately, maintaining a professional and cooperative approach.
  • Work in a structured, methodical, and organised manner at all times.
  • Training
  • Complete all required training and competency assessments within agreed timeframes.
  • Undertake additional training as directed to support ongoing development and improve performance.
  • Make effective use of technology to support role requirements and develop knowledge and skills.
  • Ensure all licences are renewed in a timely manner (a minimum of 16 weeks prior to expiry).
  • Security and Health & Safety
  • Identify and report any health and safety hazards or concerns immediately.
  • Remain vigilant to risks, threats, or changes within the environment and take appropriate action to minimise disruption, loss, or damage.
  • Use initiative and escalate concerns where necessary, particularly where situations may become unsafe or threatening.
  • Maintain a professional and calm approach when dealing with challenging situations or individuals.
  • Accurately record all incidents in a notebook at the earliest opportunity to support reporting requirements.
  • Adhere to all schedules and demonstrate commitment to both Mitie and the customer.
  • Ensure check calls are completed in line with the timings set within the Assignment Instructions.
  • Report all incidents promptly to the Communication Centre and emergency services where applicable.
