Religious Worker - Tier 5

Vacancy for Tier 5 Religious Worker. This vacancy seeks a highly diligent, hardworking, dedicated and disciplined. Amritdhari applicant, who is able to perform all Religious Duties according to the high standard of the Rehat Maryadad and the aims and objectives of the Gurdwara Sahib. The duties include: 1) Do Parkash and Sukhason of S. Guru Granth Sahib and daily Nitnem Path. 2) Prepare and serve Parshad to sangat daily. 3) To support with Langar distribution to sangat and do Ardas. 4) To carrying out duties on time and when requested. Time keeping is very important. 5) To support Head Granthi with Sukhmani Sahib Path, Sehaj Path, S. Akhand Path and daily Hokamnama, Duration/Accommodation/wage: Temporary Contract for up to 2 years and work 30 hours weekly. Minimum wage paid. Employment is subject to visa clearance and regular 6 monthly reviews by Gurdwara Management Committee, during employment. Must reside within the Gurdwara accommodation.

• Essential and Must have previous experience of working in a Gurdwara Sahib, performing Religious duties.
• Must be fluent in reading, speaking, and writing Gurmukhi.
• Must be professionally qualified TABLA player and also able to play the harmonium instrument would be an advantage.
• Some reading and writing of English is desirable.
• Vast knowledge of S. Guru Granth Sahib and Sikh History is necessary (Santhiya).
• Knowledge/understanding and practising of the Rehat is required.
• Must be able to provide references of previous working experience and work flexible hours as and when necessary.
