Full Job Description

Hourly Rate: £13.45Mitie is seeking experienced security professionals to join our Security Guard teams nationwide for our contract with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). This represents an excellent opportunity to contribute to a professional and dedicated team serving communities across the United Kingdom.Position OverviewThis role requires flexibility to travel, as it encompasses multiple DWP sites within the South Wales region, including but not limited to Merthyr Tydfil, Aberdare, Abergavenny, Cwmbran, Pontypool, Caerphilly, and Pontypridd.

A valid full UK driving licence is required.

-Maintain a safe and secure environment for DWP staff, visitors, and property.

-Conduct regular patrols of the premises to identify potential security threats.

-Respond effectively to emergencies or suspicious situations.

-Liaise with local law enforcement and emergency services as required.

-Deliver exceptional customer service and provide assistance to staff and visitors regarding any security-related matters.

-Perform routine security checks and submit incident reports as appropriate.

-Comply with all Mitie and DWP security policies, procedures, and regulations.

Security and Health & Safety

-Identify and immediately report any health and safety hazards, or potential hazards, on site.

-Remain vigilant to any threats or changes within the work environment and take the appropriate action to mitigate the risk of disruption, loss, or damage.

-Exercise sound judgement and initiative by immediately escalating matters when a situation appears to be escalating.

-Maintain professional conduct when facing difficult situations and challenging individuals.

-Complete accurate, detailed notebook entries as soon as practicable following any incident, which will form part of the incident reporting process.

-Adhere to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the client.

-Contact emergency services and the Communication Centre to report all incidents.

Previous security experience

-SIA licence required; Door Supervisor licence preferred

-Valid full UK driving licence
