Full Job Description

Situated in North Worcestershire, Bromsgrove District Council and Redditch Borough Council share services. The Councils are committed to being a customer driven organisation, with our customers at the heart of everything we do; focused on improving services that make a difference to the community that we serve. The NEW Lifeline and CCTV Monitoring Centre Team are looking to recruit a new Relief Monitoring Centre Operator. Shift pattern: 24 hours per week (average). Relief contract covering sickness and holidays - shifts allocated in advance, to include mornings, afternoons, nights, weekends and bank holidays. Are you calm in a crisis? Would you take control in an emergency? Could you deal with urgent calls? Can you spot suspicious behaviour? We will provide training to ensure you are able to:

  • Answer and respond to emergency Lifeline calls, helping people to live their lives independently
  • Answer and respond to calls in relation to various Councils' emergency services and housing repairs when the offices have closed
  • Proactively monitor CCTV within North Worcestershire and produce evidence for the Police

We are looking for bright, customer focused individuals, with a flair for problem solving and who can:
  • Safeguard vulnerable individuals - demonstrating empathy, compassion and respect at all times
  • Respond calmly, confidently and decisively to incidents and emergency situations
  • Effectively assess risks and prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Accurately assess visual and audible information to support decision making
  • Produce and maintain accurate and timely incident reports and associated documentation
  • Demonstrate strong IT skills and confidence using different systems
  • Join our team and you will make a difference to the safety of our residents, including some of the most vulnerable people. The position is predominantly based within our 24-hour Monitoring Centre in Redditch, with occasional travel to our site in Bromsgrove. If you'd like to work in a fast-paced, customer focused environment, where no two days are the same, then this is the team for you!

  • Pension
  • Generous leave entitlements starting at 25 days plus bank holidays (pro-rata)
  • Flexible working, where appropriate
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Access to employee benefits platform, offering discounts for high street shops, leisure and holiday discounts, salary sacrifice schemes and more
