Full Job Description
Rehabilitation Assistants work as part of the multidisciplinary team, working closely with physiotherapists, Advanced Practitioners and other service rehabilitation teams. We provide rehabilitation in outpatient healthcare setting environment with a focus on promoting independence, meeting rehabilitation goals and reducing care needs in the community. Rehabilitation assistants are integral to running our patient groups within Ealing Borough., The post holder will need to be flexible to meet the needs of the Service and it is essential they have a current driving license and access to a vehicle as extensive travel across the Borough maybe required.
- To work as a rehabilitation assistant within MSK community team, who provides services from the local community and/or designated buildings (such as Ealing day treatment centre, Claypond's Hospital, Ealing Hospital Charity halls/Community centres. Occasional support might need to be provided to other services in the maximising directorate.
- To assist with equipment ordering and stock control for department supplies and ensuring that these are received in full and good working order, following up on any outstanding items or actions as required.
- To assist with running of various therapist lead group exercise sessions such as upper limb, lower limb, spinal exercise class, and some virtual classes such as Get Fit class and ESCAPE pain programme.
- To assist with booking patient into our group classes
- To support Mobility Clinic project in providing assistive aid as suggested by therapist. Service users would need to be assess for suitability for particular walking aid
- To support the service with any administrative tasks
- To maintain good cleanliness and tidiness of our clinical areas
- To actively participate in Team Meetings and other projects to drive service improvements, better productivity and safer provision of care
- To support the team with collection, recording and analysing data collected through various outcome measures
- To support other community projects that might be developed in order to provide better and more effective patient access to our Service. The MSK team in Ealing counts around 40 therapist with supporting staff. We have two Tier teams, Tier 1 is Physiotherapist and Tier 2 Team is Advanced practitioners, who we work very closely with. We work together to provide excellent rehabilitation to our patients and provide a supportive and flexible environment for team members. We are very supportive and forward drive team with fast paced environment. The team are supported in their professional development with regular training and clinical supervision and opportunities to expand your skills.

This is an exciting opportunity for a rehabilitation assistant who already has some experience of working with patients in an acute or community healthcare setting to expand their skills and work within a friendly and supportive community team.
