Full Job Description
We are looking for candidates who can take on a key role within the Litigation team. You will lead and engage in criminal enforcement and regulatory work and provide high quality legal advice relating to areas including:
- Trading Standards and Environmental Health,
- Health and Safety
- Breaches of enforcement notices including Planning
- Premises and Taxi/Private Hire Licensing You will work within a friendly and collaborative team of ten colleagues, in a supportive environment where your professional development will be nurtured and appreciated. You will be an integral part of our award-winning Legal Team which is made up of up 50 colleagues across five different legal sub-teams, each delivering their own area of expertise., Stockport Council holds a Visa sponsorship licence but this can only be used for certain roles and this campaign does not currently qualify. You will be a positive, highly motivated individual who is innovative and works collaboratively. You will be a strong communicator with excellent analytical skills and enjoy the challenge of high quality work that makes a difference. Experience in all areas is not essential and support will be provided. A can-do attitude, being flexible and solutions focussed and a desire to develop are key attributes. Experience of criminal enforcement and regulatory work may have been gained in private practice or another public organisation. You should hold a current practising certificate, qualifying you to practice in England as a Solicitor, Barrister, or Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives with litigation rights, with at least 5 years PQE.
