Regulatory Associate (5+ PQE)

We're looking for an experienced Associate (5+ PQE) to join our market-leading Regulatory team, acting for some of the UK's leading professional regulators. This is an outstanding opportunity to build your expertise in investigations, enforcement and disciplinary proceedings while working in a collaborative, highly respected team. The Role You'll work on matters for the Architects' Registration Board (ARB) and General Dental Council (GDC), alongside complex education regulation cases involving the Teaching Regulation Agency (TRA) and Education Workforce Council (EWC). You will take ownership of a varied and challenging caseload, advising professional regulators on allegations of misconduct, competence and fitness to practise issues across a range of regulated professions. Working closely with clients and colleagues, you will:

• Lead investigations from initial instruction through to resolution.
• Review complaints, evidence and investigation reports.
• Advise on appropriate allegations, charges and case strategy.
• Assess evidential sufficiency and regulatory risk.
• Prepare legal documents, witness statements and hearing bundles.
• Instruct and manage counsel and expert witnesses.
• Ensure cases are progressed efficiently and in accordance with relevant legislation and procedural requirements.
• Make recommendations regarding sanctions and outcomes.
• Supervise and support paralegals within the team.
• Contribute to training, knowledge sharing and business development initiatives.
  
  We'd love to hear from candidates who bring one or more of the following:
• Experience in a leading regulatory team in an investigation or presenting role
• In-house experience working for a regulator
• Overseas qualified lawyers with a background in criminal prosecution
We are looking for a lawyer with:
• 5+ years' PQE (or equivalent experience)
• Strong experience of investigations, disciplinary proceedings and regulatory enforcement.
• Confidence working closely with Counsel and instructing expert witnesses.
• Excellent drafting, analytical and advocacy-related skills.
• The ability to manage a busy caseload and competing deadlines effectively.
• A commercial and pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
• Experience supervising junior team members and delegating work appropriately.
• Outstanding client relationship and stakeholder management skills.
• A genuine interest in business development, networking and raising the profile of the team.

Working Pattern We're open to candidates seeking a full-time role or a 4-day week role, with flexibility on which day is taken off - ideally a Wednesday or Thursday. Office presence is required in Moorgate, London on average 50% of each month.
