Experteer Overview In this Registrar role, you support residents through key life events by conducting ceremonies, recording life events, and issuing certificates. You will work as part of the Registration Services within Legal & Governance, ensuring services are compliant with statutory requirements and delivered with professionalism. You engage with residents, stakeholders and external bodies to maintain accurate records and provide clear guidance. The position blends technical knowledge, public-facing service and compassionate engagement with diverse communities. You will operate with independence, including outside standard hours, contributing to a trusted, high-quality public service. Pay / Benefits

  • Conduct ceremonies and take notices of marriage and civil partnerships Register life events and process related applications Maintain accurate records and issue certificates Liaise with General Register Office, Home Office, other registration districts and coroners Provide advice and guidance to residents and stakeholders Ensure services comply with statutory requirements Deliver services professionally and compassionately, including outside office hours Tasks Experience delivering excellent customer service in a public-facing environment Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to engage with individuals and groups Ability to remain calm and professional with sensitive or complex situations Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail; accuracy in statutory documentation Ability to work independently, make sound decisions and resolve issues under pressure Experience managing competing priorities and adapting to changing schedules and demands Confidence in conducting public ceremonies or presenting to groups (or willingness to develop these skills through training) Commitment to confidentiality, professionalism and high standards of customer care Key requirements
