Full Job Description

We are looking for a Registered Paediatric Nurse to join our friendly team part-time (min 23 hrs). Our ward has a small team of people who work closely together, promoting our Trust's values - kindness, integrity, teamwork and equality. Woodlands paediatric ward has 16 beds with an additional clinical assessment unit for general medical and surgical paediatric patients as well as day admissions. We also have a high dependency cubicle on the ward for very unwell children and we work very closely with Leeds Children's Hospital., You will provide exceptional nursing care while working alongside your peers. You must be able to demonstrate the knowledge, skills and experience required for this position and have a keen interest in your ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice. We provide all new starters with a robust induction programme and we have a part time designated Practice Development Nurse on hand to help provide 1 -1 teaching and support in identifying your professional development needs. Main duties

  • To provide child centred, evidence based care on Woodlands Ward, SCBU, Paediatric Outpatients and elsewhere in the Trust as appropriate.
  • To implement and evaluate family centred care and to be responsible for the delivery of care.
  • To take delegated responsibility for patients working as part of a team ensuring the smooth operational running of the Unit.
  • Mentoring pre-registration students.
  • Act as Nurse in Charge of the shift as required
