Paterson Ward is a dynamic 14 bed short stay surgical unit with a high patient turnover, providing excellent opportunities to develop a broad range of clinical skills in a fast-paced environment. The ward cares for patients from both elective surgical pathways and acute admissions, receiving patients from the Surgical Assessment Unit (SAU) and the Emergency Department (A&E). We are committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care and specialise in enhanced recovery pathways, including bariatric surgery, ensuring the highest standards of care are maintained throughout the patient journey. As a nurse on Paterson Ward, you will have the opportunity to rotate between the ward and the Surgical Recovery Unit on the 4th floor. In Surgical Recovery, you will care for patients following surgery, including day-case procedures and bariatric surgery, allowing you to gain valuable experience in both acute surgical nursing and post-operative recovery. This role offers an excellent opportunity for motivated nurses looking to enhance their surgical knowledge, develop specialist skills, and work as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team dedicated to delivering outstanding patient care.,
