Full Job Description
We are recruiting for a Registered Nurse - Emergency Departmentwho shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients., Assess, plan, implement and evaluate the care needs of patients from admission (or before) to discharge, with the involvement of patients and their relatives/carers. Participate in the ongoing training, supervision and support of registered and non-registered nursing staff. This includes Trainee Assistant Practitioners, Clinical Support Workers undertaking apprenticeships and pre-registration Student Nurses. Evaluation of own knowledge and practice and makes effective use of appropriate learning opportunities, such as department training, Trust training, conference attendance, shadow staff, literature searching and reading Communicate effectively and work in partnership with patients, nursing collages, the Multidisciplinary Team and all other relevant personnel Recognise and respond appropriately to urgent and emergency situations, utilise escalation strategies, such as SBAR and pathways Shortlisted candidates will be required to undertake the drug calculation assessment. - Awareness of strategies for maintaining a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors
- Understanding of Trust policies including but not limited to IPC Standards, Uniform Policy, etc. Desirable
- Understanding of current NHS issues and 4 hour performance
We are looking for Nurses who are searching for opportunities to further develop their career and who possess excellent communication skills, strong team working skills and can evidence the delivery of good patient care., Registered Nurse on part 1, part 2 or part 12 of the NMC register - Commitment to life long learning
- Evidence of ongoing professional development, Experience within an Emergency department / within a ward environment equivalent, Currently working in an acute ward environment within the NHS
- Experience of supporting students/clinical support workers within the NHS skillsEssential
- Evidence of good communication skills both written and verbal
- Ability to work within a team and autonomously
- Recognising / managing acutely unwell patients, Computer literacy
- Phlebotomy, cannulation skills
- MTS Triage Trained
