Full Job Description
Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to develop yourself whilst playing a key role in the development of others?Are you ready for a new challenge?We are seeking an exceptional individual who is enthusiastic, energetic and will thrive in a busy Ophthalmology Department.
You will be required to provide support, specialised knowledge and expertise in the day to day care and management of all patients coming through the department. Working within this very busy environment will provide you with an opportunity to demonstrate your clinical skills. You would be responsible to ensure standards are maintained, evaluated, and where necessary improved.
In addition, you will play a key role in ensuring to care for and manage Ophthalmic patient's effectively with high professional standards, excellent communication skills and a genuine desire to work within the Ophthalmic Unit. We work over a seven day period Monday to Sunday as a day case unit
The successful applicant will need to have a good range of clinical nursing skills, be proactive, work autonomously and be able to demonstrate an understanding of the importance of professional development. The role will involve supporting junior colleagues, ensuring daily care standards are maintained, engaging in quality monitoring and HR processes, incident and complaints management. In addition to this, there is an expectation that the post holder will continually develop themselves through engagement with Practice Development.
The successful candidate will have an active NMC registration. Experience in Ophthalmology is desirable however not essential, as full training would be provided for the right candidate.

You will also be expected to support the trust in the times of need, to ensure all areas within the trust are covered, to offer exceptional care to our patients.
