About Our Services
Our Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) is designed to support individuals in severe phases of illness who require specialized care. Our dedicated team is at the forefront of intensive care, equipped to handle complex needs and challenging behaviors, including co-existing issues like substance misuse.
Located just 5 minutes from Bristol Parkway train station and 10 minutes from Bristol Temple Meads, with easy access to the motorway network, you'll find our location convenient for commuting from the South West, Wales, and London.
Your Role and Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, person-centred care by assessing, planning, delivering, and evaluating individualized care plans.
- Act as the patient's named nurse, ensuring collaborative care with the multidisciplinary team.
- Respond proactively to changes in patients' needs while supporting their families and carers.
- Demonstrate excellent clinical judgement, communication, and leadership skills.
- Maintain compliance with safeguarding, medicines management, the Mental Capacity Act, and the NMC Code.
- Commit to continuous professional development and support newly qualified staff through preceptorship.
What You Bring to the Role
- A qualified Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with 6-12 months of post-registration experience.
- Active NMC Registration and completion of a preceptorship programme.
- Committed to delivering high-quality, compassionate mental health care.
