Full Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse (Learning Disabilities) to lead a specialist Childrens Short Breaks service providing care to children and young people with learning disabilities and complex needs. The role will ensure a safe, effective and child-centred service, where children feel welcome, safe, confident and have a positive experience of their stay. The post holder will act as the Registered Manager with OFSTED and work within a dual regulated service. You will provide strong leadership to the team, promoting high standards of care, professionalism and continuous improvement. You will use your initiative, work proactively, and respond flexibly to the changing demands of the role, working collaboratively with families, carers and partner agencies. The service is friendly, supportive and committed to delivering high quality care. The role includes a combination of management responsibilities and clinical shifts, working flexibly across early, late and night shifts as required.Main duties of the job Provide day-to-day operational management of the Childrens Unit. Lead, motivate and develop the staff team. Ensure delivery of a safe, effective and responsive service. Ensure compliance with OFSTED and CQC standards. Monitor quality, audit practice and implement improvements. Manage staff rotas, workforce planning and recruitment. Oversee referrals, assessments and person-centred care planning. Lead on safeguarding, risk management and incident response.
