Full Job Description
- Take responsibility for the successful day-to-day management of the children's home.
- Provide strong, visible leadership to the residential team.
- Establish a positive culture centred around the safety, wellbeing and development of young people.
- Ensure the home operates in line with Ofsted requirements
- Lead on safeguarding and ensure risks are appropriately assessed and managed.
- Recruit, develop, supervise and support members of the residential team.
- Ensure care plans and placement plans reflect each young person's individual needs
- Monitor quality across the service and implement improvements where required.
- Support positive outcomes around education, relationships, independence and emotional wellbeing.
- Maintain effective staffing, documentation and operational oversight.
- Prepare the home for regulatory monitoring and Ofsted inspections.
- For the dual-registration position, provide effective leadership and oversight across two registered services. All appointments are subject to safer recruitment requirements, including an enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references, verification of qualifications and the right to work in the UK, in line with safeguarding responsibilities.
- Level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare or equivalent.
- Previous children's residential care experience is essential.
- Strong experience supporting children and young people with EBD and complex needs.
- Previous experience as a Registered Children's Home Manager would be highly desirable.
- Experienced Deputy Children's Home Managers ready to step up will also be considered.
- Good knowledge of Ofsted requirements and inspection processes.
- Strong safeguarding and child protection knowledge.
- Experience leading, supervising and developing residential childcare teams.
- Confidence managing risk, incidents and challenging situations.
£60,000-£80,000 per year | Single or Dual Registration | Newly Registered Home This is an exciting opportunity to take the lead of a newly registered children's home, with the scope to manage a single service or take on dual registration for an enhanced salary package. The home will support children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD), providing a safe, structured and nurturing environment where they can build positive relationships, develop greater stability and work towards better long-term outcomes. We're looking for an experienced children's residential professional who can provide strong leadership from the outset. Applications are welcomed from established Registered Managers, as well as experienced Deputy Managers ready to step up who can demonstrate the knowledge, leadership skills and children's residential experience required to successfully manage a regulated service. There is an immediate requirement for a manager, making this a great opportunity for someone ready to make their mark on a newly registered home. Salary & Registration - £60,000 per year - Single Registration
