Full Job Description

If you're an experienced Registered Manager looking to take the lead in opening a new Learning Disabilities service and want the support of an experienced organisation behind you, we'd like to hear from you.

Qualifications Required: Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent) preferred. Strong Level 3 candidates willing to complete Level 5 may also be considered. Experience Required: Minimum 12 months' experience as a Registered Manager within an Ofsted-regulated children's home. Previous experience supporting children with Learning Disabilities (LD) is essential. Location: Little Hulton, Manchester (M38) This newly developed children's home will initially open as a solo service before increasing occupancy where appropriate. While the home is registered for up to five young people, occupancy will always reflect the complexity of the young person's needs and the required staffing ratios. The service is designed to provide high-quality residential care for children and young people with Learning Disabilities within a safe, nurturing and therapeutic environment. We are looking for an experienced Registered Manager who is passionate about delivering outstanding care and excited by the opportunity to establish a new home. You will have:

  • A minimum of 12 months' experience as a Registered Manager within an Ofsted-regulated children's home.
  • Previous experience supporting children with Learning Disabilities.
  • Excellent understanding of Ofsted standards and safeguarding.
  • The ability to recruit, develop and lead a successful team.
  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
  • A child-focused approach with high professional standards.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • Previous experience completing SC1/SC2 applications is not required, as full support will be provided during the registration process.

Our client is a growing provider of specialist children's residential services with an excellent reputation for supporting both young people and their management teams.

They offer experienced operational leadership, clear governance and genuine opportunities for career development.
  • Lead a brand-new Learning Disabilities service from the outset.
  • Strong Responsible Individual and senior operational support.
  • Opportunity to build your own team and shape the culture of the home.
  • Long-term career progression within a growing provider.
  • Salary up to £65,000
  • Pension scheme
  • 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Ongoing training and development
  • Full support through Ofsted registration and inspections
  • Employee recognition initiatives
