Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity for Registered Children's nurse (or children/adult dual registered), with a passion for delivering exceptional care, to join the Outpatients Fracture Clinic Team.

Working within the NMC Code of Professional Conduct you will be based in the adult Fracture clinic supporting the increasing number of children and young persons requiring specialist trauma & orthopaedic review and treatments in the adult environment.

Work closely with the team to ensure that paediatric and young adult patients needs are met and remain safe in the adult environment.

Successful applicants will be required to provide an immunisation and vaccination report, from either their current UK occupational health provider or their UK GP., As a registered children's nurse, with post preceptorship experience in the UK, you will support the Fracture clinic team in all areas of the adult clinic - including the trauma clinics, elective clinics, plaster rooms and virtual fracture clinic. Providing a high standard of care to children, young persons and adults.

Support the plaster technicians in the adult & children's plaster rooms and in delivering the plaster room outreach service across the inpatient areas. Develop your skills in various plastering techniques and attend the British Orthopaedic Casting Course to achieve the British Casting Certificate qualification.

Act as point of contact for any concerns relating to paediatric patients in the adult environment e.g. medication, safeguarding, wound management and treatments.

Work with the team using UHCWi methodology to continuously improve the services provided.

Take responsibility for the co-ordination of shifts - communicating with patients, carers, staff and the wider multidisciplinary team on the day to ensure the smooth running of clinics and patient pathways.

Please note this post is not suitable for applicants who are required to undertake the OSCE training programme. Applicants who do not have current valid UK NMC registration will not be considered for this post. Successful candidates must have post-preceptorship experience.
