Full Job Description
We're looking for a Commissioning Manager to join our team delivering water treatment projects as part of the Affinity Water framework. This role is central to delivering safe, efficient installation and commissioning of MEICA (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control & Automation) systems. You'll work collaboratively with clients, design teams, delivery teams, and our supply chain to ensure projects are delivered to a high standard, from design through to completion and handover. What you'll be doing:
- Leading safe and compliant installation and commissioning activities across projects
- Championing a design-to-commission-to-handover approach throughout the project lifecycle
- Developing and managing commissioning strategies, plans, and documentation
- Coordinating resources and supporting effective programme delivery with project teams
- Ensuring MEICA installations meet technical, quality, and programme requirements
- Managing testing, commissioning, FATs, and performance verification
- Working closely with client teams to integrate new systems with existing operations
- Supporting smooth project handover, including defect resolution and documentation
- Driving continuous improvement through collaboration with engineers, suppliers, and stakeholders
- Promoting strong health, safety, and environmental standards across all activities
You'll bring experience in commissioning within the water or infrastructure sector, along with a collaborative and solutions-focused approach. We welcome applicants who can demonstrate: - Experience delivering and commissioning complex MEICA systems
- Knowledge of water treatment processes and plant systems
- Ability to lead or support multidisciplinary teams and coordinate resources
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative working style
- Commercial awareness and understanding of project delivery impacts
- Commitment to health, safety, and quality standards
- A structured approach to commissioning and problem-solving Qualifications (or working towards):
- Engineering qualification (HNC or equivalent)
- CSCS/ECS card
- EUSR Water Hygiene Card
- SMSTS or SSSTS
- Familiarity with relevant electrical and industry standards (e.g. 18th Edition, WIMES) Additional certifications such as First Aid, COMPEX, or PROFIBUS are beneficial but not essential.
