Referrals Officer

Elizabeth Fry Charity runs a Ministry of Justice Approved Premises in Reading, accommodating up to 24 women. We strive to be an excellent provider of accommodation and support for women in the criminal justice system. Do you have strong admin skills, a problem-solving approach, and an eye for detail? Are you looking for an opportunity where your skills will make a difference in supporting women in the Criminal Justice System?, We are currently seeking a Referrals Officer to join our dedicated team. This is a vital role, processing referrals for residents, maintaining accurate data and contributing to the smooth operation of our service. The postholder will come with or be able to develop a good understanding of risk assessment and management, enabling them to identify risk management concerns and share these with the Referral and Premises Manager at the earliest opportunity.,

• Process referrals which have been allocated to the Approved Premises by the Central Referral Unit, ensuring all pre-arrival tasks are completed.
• Liaise with the Referral & Premises Manager regarding any concerns about the suitability of placements.
• Manage resident departures and complete end of placement assessments.
• Prepare quarterly data reports and gather statistical information on our services.
• Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure targets are met.
• Maintain accurate records using appropriate case management and local systems.
• Actively contribute to team meetings, practice development, training, and supervision.

  Essential Skills and Experience:
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail.
• Confidence using IT systems, particularly Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Effective time management and organisational skills.

Desirable:
• Experience working with individuals facing a range of social or personal difficulties.
• Understanding of the criminal justice system, particularly the Probation Service.
• Awareness of the challenges faced by women in the criminal justice system.
