Full Job Description

We're looking for a passionate and motivatedBand 7 Nurse to join our Reducing Restrictive Practice (RRP) team within West London Forensic Services. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in improving patient experience, enhancing safety, and shaping how care is delivered across our inpatient forensic wards. Our services provide safe, therapeutic environments for individuals detained under the Mental Health Act. We are committed to trauma-informed care, promoting recovery, and ensuring the least restrictive, most compassionate approach to care at all times., As a Reducing Restrictive Practice Nurse, you will:

  • Lead and support initiatives to reduce restrictive interventions (including restraint and rapid tranquillisation) while maintaining patient safety
  • Work closely with the Restrictive Practice Lead to monitor, analyse, and improve practice through data and governance
  • Support patients who have experienced restrictive interventions and help shape individualised, recovery-focused care plans
  • Deliver training, supervision, and guidance to staff across services
  • Play a key role in improving patient experience and engagement, ensuring service user voices are heard
  • Contribute to the development of policies, protocols, and service improvements

    Are passionate about patient-centred, trauma-informed care
  • Have experience in mental health and/or forensic settings
  • Are confident in leading change, influencing practice, and supporting others
  • Have a strong interest in reducing restrictive interventions and improving care quality
  • This role will involve working across different sites within the Trust and contributing to wider service improvement initiatives.
