Full Job Description

2 post available at 15 hours per week. You will be required to work Thursday and Friday with the option of either a Saturday or Sunday (3 days in total) 4pm to 8pm. This role supports the IMS system, procurement, storage and transport ofequipment and resources within the operating theatreenvironment. You will be expected to work on an individual basis but also as an integral member of the team within theatres and ITAPS Resources, Equipment,Decontamination and Sterilization team, and work accordingly to the department's policies and procedures, upholding Trust policies.,

  • Collection and delivery of used and clean items to and from departments on any site.
  • Storing and distribution of items in the storerooms to include ensuring the areais clean and stock is rotated, items topped up on IMS system.
  • All instrument trays being handled are checked for sterility of packagingChecking date/batch numbers of sterile items to ensure they meet therequired department standards and raising any issues found.
  • Comply with the department Quality Policies and Procedures.
  • Ensure priority is given to all Urgent Cases, and communicate to thetheatre concerned the time scales involved.
  • Any problems must be brought to the attention of the Team Leaders orDepartmental Managers, responsible for the site immediately.
  • Ensure that the Trolleys are cleaned internally and externally on a daily basis.
  • Other work areas are kept neat & tidy, and that work practises are upheld.
  • REDS Operatives are to prepare and assist the drivers to transport trolleysfor collection/delivery from/to the vehicles parked outside the main building ofhe specific site.
  • All sterilised items are placed back in their correct spaces allocated in the appropriate Theatre/Department store areas
