Full Job Description
In this job, your responsibilities will fall into three main practice areas: the provision of one to one advice to individuals regarding their applications for internships, jobs or further study for the UK and globally; the delivery of interactive group work on various aspects of recruitment and selection; and research into current trends in recruitment practice across a range of industry sectors which will involve collaboration with other careers staff as well as direct outreach to employers in the UK and globally. You will work with a diverse range of clients: undergraduate students, taught Masters students and research students (including those undertaking a PhD) from any of UCL's eleven faculties. As well as developing expert knowledge of common graduate recruitment practices across industry sectors in the UK and globally, you will also be expected to develop in-depth specialist expertise in a number of more 'vocational' sectors such as academic research and medicine, and with regards to global recruitment practices. Please note, the activities in this role follow the main employer recruitment season and therefore in the Autumn term you will be expected to undertake approximately 5 hours of one to one student application advice appointments per day. This will decrease in the Spring and Summer terms in line with student demand. Note that this role may include some work in the early evenings (up to 2 evenings per week).
