Recruitment Officer

This is an exciting opportunity to join our friendly and supportive HR team and play a key role in helping Fareham Borough Council attract, recruit and retain great people.
As our Recruitment Officer, you'll be responsible for supporting the delivery of professional and engaging recruitment and onboarding activity. You'll work closely with managers and candidates to deliver an excellent recruitment experience whilst ensuring our processes remain compliant, efficient and inclusive.
You'll play an active part in shaping and refining recruitment requirements across the full recruitment lifecycle, including advertising vacancies, supporting interviews, undertaking pre-employment checks, producing employment documentation and helping new employees get off to a great start. You'll anticipate and manage risks and provide practical solutions during recruitment and onboarding. You'll also contribute to wider HR projects and initiatives.
This post is offered on a fixed-term basis until 31 March 2028., A CV and a comprehensive supporting statement outlining why you are interested in this opportunity and your relevant skills and experience are required as part of the application process.

You'll need to be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of current recruitment and onboarding practices and processes and have an administrative background ideally in the public sector.

You'll need excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to demonstrate experience in building positive working relationships. You'll have a keen eye for detail, be able to manage competing priorities and analyse recruitment data
You'll need to be able to take ownership of your work and be committed to delivering a positive experience for candidates and managers alike.
