Full Job Description
This is a training role within the University of Reading. All posts are based within the CAMHS service but each successful candidate will work within one of the following pathways:
- Central Bedfordshire CAMH Access Service
- South Bedfordshire and Luton / Central Bedfordshire Primary Care Access Service
The post holder will be providing CBT interventions whilst undertaking a programme of training for this role. The teams are part of a broader North and South Bedfordshire CAMHS service and work alongside other teams which offer specialist support, for example for clients in crisis, or those with eating disorders.
This intensive training post will equip the postholder to provide evidence-based interventions based NICE Guideline recommended treatment and on CYP-IAPT core principles of accessibility, accountability, participation, awareness and evidence-based practice to provide an inclusive and effective service for children and young people. The post holder will work in the service for at least 2.5-3.0 days of the week using the newly developed skills whilst training for the remaining days.
The post holder will hold an appropriate training case load for the course and work with Children Young people and families with different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary and should be committed to equal opportunities and inclusive, non-discriminatory practice.
The post holders will have opportunities to further develop service development and leadership skills through undertaking and contributing to clinical audit, service evaluation and quality improvement projects and research activities where appropriate.
