Sunderland City Council has an exciting opportunity for two highly motivated and experienced Recovery/Enforcement Team Leaders to lead a high-performing team responsible for maximising income collection and ensuring effective enforcement activity. In this role, you will provide day-to-day leadership, performance management, and operational oversight to ensure targets are met while maintaining excellent standards of customer service and compliance. About the role:

  • Lead, motivate, and manage a team of recovery officers and enforcement agents
  • Oversee recovery processes, ensuring effective and timely collection
  • Monitor team performance and implement improvements where needed
  • Provide coaching, support, and development to team members
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures
  • Manage complex or escalated cases and make informed decisions
  • Analyse performance data and produce reports for senior management
  • Work collaboratively with internal departments and external agencies

    Proven experience in collections/recovery or a similar environment
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive cases professionally and empathetically
