Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the post of Receptionist at Leighton Emergency Department. We are looking for a highly motivated, confident and organised individual to join our busy reception team.
The post will involve booking patients on the system for both walk-in and ambulance arrivals and dealing with telephone and face to face enquiries. The successful candidate will provide an efficient and comprehensive administration support for the emergency department.
The reception is manned 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with the following shift pattens available:-

Reception Shift Time
Early 08:30 - 12:30
Mid 12:30 - 17:00
Late 17:00 - 22:00
TW 17:00 - 00:00
Night 22:00 - 08:30, Greeting patients, relatives friends and other healthcare professionals attending the emergency department in a polite, friendly and professional manner.
The post holder will ensure that patients details are accurately recorded and relevant documentation is created to support safe patient care.
You will have excellent communication skills, be dedicated and courteous. You will also have excellent verbal and written communication skills. You must be able to deal with sensitive and confidential issues in line with GDPR., + Provide an efficient and comprehensive reception service, greeting patients, public and all visitors as they arrive into the emergency department
+ Dealing with enquiries promptly, taking action as necessary and directing patients/relatives/carers accordingly
+ Maintain systems and process to ensure that patient information/data is available at the right time, that they are in the right place, and that they are complete and accurate according to the agreed quality standard
