Full Job Description
Typical duties will include:
Managing a busy switchboard, channelling calls as appropriate
Operation of the external main gates
Welcoming visitors, parents and students dealing with a range of queries
Managing contractors for DBS and safeguarding compliance
Processing external and internal post and parcel deliveries
Daily management of the school's email system
Various administrative duties using email, Word, Excel and an internal database
Dealing with students' queries throughout the day, as required at the designated student enquiry point in reception
Undertaking administrative duties
The role requires the post-holder to be pro-active to plan ahead; have an attention to detail; have good communication and written skills across a range of audiences with the ability to work with interruptions throughout the day.
Working Hours
The working hours with an unpaid 30 minute lunchbreak are:
Monday to Wednesday: 8.15am to 4.15pm
Thursday and Friday: 8.15am to 4pm
There may be a requirement to work on inset days as agreed., The Kenilworth Multi Academy Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff, volunteers and parents to share that commitment. Successful candidates will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check with Children's Barred List check and obtain membership of the DBS update Service.
We are looking to recruit a suitably experienced Receptionist and Administrator to provide an efficient reception and administrative service for Kenilworth School and Sixth Form.
As a first point of contact for the school, the successful candidate must have excellent customer care skills and be organised to multi-task on a busy reception.
The reception is busy and the workload is varied, so the ideal candidate will be organised to manage and prioritise their own workload, meeting deadlines with the ability to work calmly with interruptions to assist students'/parents'/carers' throughout the day.
Previous experience of customer care and/or reception duties in another setting would be advantageous, but training can be given to a suitable candidate.
You will be IT literate with the ability to use Microsoft packages, to include Word, Excel and data bases. The ability to manage your own workload and meet deadlines is required.
