Full Job Description

We're a family owned and run care provider, and we're passionate about people - it's not just a motto, it's how we operate. We're looking for a Receptionist to be the welcoming face and voice of our home - the first point of contact for residents, families, visitors and team members alike. It's a role that sets the tone for someone's whole experience of us, and we're looking for someone who takes real pride in that.,

  • Giving residents, families and visitors a warm, professional welcome from the moment they arrive
  • Managing incoming calls and directing them to the right person
  • Answering questions and giving accurate information about the home and what we offer
  • Scheduling and coordinating appointments, tours and meetings
  • Keeping the reception area clean, organised and genuinely welcoming
  • Handling administrative tasks such as mail sorting and data entry
  • Liaising with colleagues across the home so day-to-day operations run smoothly

Previous experience in a receptionist or front-of-house role, ideally in a luxury care home setting
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
  • A polished and professional demeanour
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software
  • A proactive and problem-solving approach
  • Empathy and understanding when engaging with elderly residents and their families

Nestled in the heart of Borehamwood, Meadowhill Care Home combines modern design with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Boasting 75 private rooms and luxurious communal spaces, Meadowhill is tailored to meet the unique needs of residents in a safe and peaceful environment., Why Westgate is different
  • Family owned and operated - decisions here are made by people who know the homes, not a distant corporate structure
  • A genuine track record of promoting from within - many of our staff, including Home Managers, started in roles just like this one and grew with us; if you want a career, not just a job, we'll invest in getting you there
  • Excellent regulatory standards - our homes are currently rated Good or Outstanding, so you're joining a team that gets the fundamentals right
  • We invest in keeping good people - many of our staff have been with us for years, not just recruited and left to it

These aren't words on a wall - they're what we expect from each other and what our residents and families experience every day.
  • Pay and hours
  • £12.71 - £13.30 per hour
  • 37.5 hours per week, 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday
  • Why people stay at Westgate
  • Under-21s paid the same rate as staff 25+ - we don't do age-banded pay
  • Get paid before payday with Wagestream, plus Blue Light Card, cashback and discount schemes
