Reception Teacher - CardiffStart Date: SeptemberHours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pmContract: Long-term (potential to extend) | Term-time only (approx. 12 weeks off per year) We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Reception Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Cardiff from September., You will take full responsibility for a Reception class, delivering engaging, creative, and developmentally appropriate lessons in line with the Early Years Foundation Phase. You will be supported by experienced Teaching Assistants and a collaborative senior leadership team. Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons tailored to Reception pupils
- Create a stimulating and nurturing classroom environment
- Support children's social, emotional, and academic development
- Use a range of assessment strategies to track progress and inform planning
- Work closely with support staff, parents, and the wider school team
- Maintain high expectations for behaviour and learning
- Ensure safeguarding procedures are always followed
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate Early Years practitioner to play a key role in shaping children's first experience of school and building strong foundations for their future learning., Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - Experience teaching within Early Years / Reception
- Strong knowledge of the Foundation Phase curriculum
- Excellent behaviour management skills
- A creative, patient, and nurturing approach
- Strong organisational and communication skills Desirable
- Experience supporting children with ALN/SEN
- Phonics knowledge (e.g. Read Write Inc, Letters and Sounds)
- Experience in a similar school setting
