Full Job Description
Are you a passionate Early Years teacher ready to make a lasting difference? We are seeking a great Reception teacher to join our ambitious, supportive and forward-thinking school from September 2026. This is a rare opportunity to shape children's earliest experiences of school, in a setting that values curiosity, creativity and connection. There is the potential for a Teaching and Learning Responsibility (TLR) linked to Early Years leadership for the right candidate. Our Early Years provision is a real strength of the school. We provide a rich, play-based curriculum with a strong focus on language, relationships and early development. Our Reception team works closely with our neighbouring Nursery School, ensuring strong transition and continuity for children. Staff benefit from well-developed indoor and outdoor provision and a collaborative team approach.
Wood Farm Primary School is a vibrant and thriving two-form entry primary school in the Headington area of Oxford. We are looking for an enthusiastic, confident teacher who has high expectations for themselves and for children and who is passionate about learning, and early education. Ofsted judged our school 'good' overall in November 2022, with 'outstanding' leadership and management. Our school is an exciting and fulfilling place to work, where all members of the school community strive to be the best they can be, and are supported to grow and develop in their profession. We can offer you:
- excellent professional development, including coaching, collaborative planning, and strong support for Early Career Teachers and experienced staff looking to develop leadership, in a school with a track record of success,
- the opportunity to be part of a friendly and enthusiastic team,
- the chance to make a real and lasting difference to children's lives. Staff at Wood Farm benefit from a strong team ethos, high levels of support and a culture where professional growth is genuinely prioritised. We work hard to ensure teachers can focus on delivering excellent teaching while maintaining a sustainable workload. Commitment to safeguarding Ensuring that children are safe and well cared for is our highest priority. We work with parents and other agencies, including our Local Authority, to make sure that children are kept safe, both in school and beyond. Staff members with designated lead responsibility undertake regular specialist training in safeguarding and child protection. All members of staff and regular volunteers receive training in child protection, and we undertake comprehensive background checks on all adults working in the school, including an enhanced DBS check and full employment references.
