To liaise with wards, clinical staff, GPs and Trust support staff in person, via telephone and email as and when necessary - To show a caring and professional approach towards patients and visitors when carrying out reception and appointment duties - Escalate patient queries, capacity problems and general issues to the role's line manager or relevant clinical staff as appropriate, The Reception/Admin role is responsible for attending patient on arrival, making Clinical staff aware if needed, checking patient details are correct, Update if required. dealing with many enquires face-to-face and over the phone, booking appointments and any other clerical duties required within this role., The Reception/Admin role is responsible for attending patient on arrival, making Clinical staff aware if needed, checking patient details are correct, Update if required. dealing with many enquires face-to-face and over the phone, booking appointments and any other clerical duties required within this role.   • Educated to GCSE, Grade C or above (or equivalent) in English language and Maths E, Excellent/professional telephone/ reception manner
  • Flexible approach to duties
  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines whilst maintaining a high standard of accuracy
  • Proven good organisational skills
  • Good IT skills including Microsoft packages
  • Confidence to handle difficult conversations with patients, relatives and carers
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively in a busy team, adjust to change and motivate others
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge and Experience Essential
  • Clerical/administration experience including filing and/or reception
  • Desirable
  • Previous NHS experience
  • Previous receptionist experience in a healthcare or public setting
  • Person Specification Qualifications Essential
