Full Job Description

As a Real Estate Lawyer within the Newcastle contingent of our national team, you'll play a pivotal role in handling diverse commercial real estate investment and asset management matters. You'll also provide crucial support on larger real estate finance and corporate support transactions. The team is fast growing and provides a supportive environment, allowing you to quickly immerse yourself in high-quality work and develop your skills. What does the ideal candidate look like? We're keen to see applications from enthusiastic real estate lawyers who've had exposure to complex real estate work. You'll need some experience of collaborating on real estate investment projects, drafting and reviewing legal documents related to asset management, acquisitions, disposals and real estate finance transactions and some knowledge of development work would be helpful. Ultimately you must have the ability to deliver a first-class service to our clients. You'll be a lawyer who is excited at the prospect of working in a busy and supportive environment. Excellent drafting skills, a sense of commercial pragmatism, a bright mind and a strong team ethos to help further develop the team's client base is important for this role. Business development is important for all of our lawyers, and you will be able to contribute to the growth of the team by assisting with the organisation of client events, writing articles for our website and other marketing activities.

  • A legal qualification with 4+ year's post admission experience.
  • Experience of working on real estate finance transactions.
  • Experience gained from working as part of a team on complex transactions.
  • Able to demonstrate knowledge gained in the key areas of focus.

We continually work hard to create an open culture that sets us apart from other firms. Our culture gives us much more of a human feel, emphasising that we're more than just suits!
  • As signatories to the Mindful Business Charter, it's important to us that our people are able to maintain healthy and happy lives, both in and out of work. We have a number of resources and initiatives designed to support health and wellbeing and we're very happy to talk flexible working. Through our DEI initiatives we create an environment in which difference is valued. We have an Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Group, led by our Board Sponsor, which works with our colleague networks (we currently have firm supported networks for race, ethnicity, and cultural heritage, LGBTQ+, disabilities, neurodiversity, families, and women's career development and we're in constant dialogue with our people about how we expand our networks to better support everybody). Find out more about DEI at WBD here. We encourage applicants from all social backgrounds, ethnicities, disabilities, gender identities and sexual orientations.
