Further Information

We have an exciting role on offer within our Prevention and Partnership Service as a Reablement Officer.

Reablement is provided to people by Middlesbrough Council, for a short amount of time.

Reablement is working with people in their own homes, and promoting independence, while helping only when the person needs it.

The aim is to keep people at home, as independent as possible. The hardest part of learning to be a Reablement Officer is 'doing with' rather than 'doing for'. For example, it is much harder to support someone to make a cup of tea for themselves rather than making it for them.

Some of the feedback staff receive from customers include; 'extremely helpful and encouraging', 'good listeners', 'on time' and 'kind and caring'.

If you have these qualities, we would love to hear from you!

We have worked with people from the age of 18, and to date the oldest customer we have worked with is 101. We work with people from all walks of life, with no judgement.

A full UK driving licence, access to own vehicle for work purposes and business insurance is essential as the post requires travelling within Middlesbrough.

Benefits of working with Middlesbrough Council include; generous mileage allowance, free training, sports and leisure membership discount scheme and generous annual leave allowance.

For an informal discussion regarding this post please contact Michelle Coughtrie, Reablement Manager or Philippa Young, Deputy Reablement Manager on .
