Full Job Description

The Rapid Response Co-ordinator provides operational co-ordination of Patient Transport and therapeutic support for individuals on a Section 136 of the Mental Health Act within designated places of safety and patients waiting within health care settings for mental health support. The role focusses on managing real-time demand, allocating staff and resources and ensuing that patients receive appropriate support, transport and engagement during times of crisis., The Co-ordinator will play a key role in the day-to-day operation of the Urgent Care Rapid Response Service, working closely with clinical teams, emergency services and partner agencies to ensure safe, effective and compassionate care to people experiencing mental health crisis. The role will involve coordinating and prioritising requests, allocating staff, supporting patient flow and maintaining oversight of service demand and operational activity. The successful candidate will be confident working in a fast-paced environment, managing priorities and communicating effectively with a range of professionals. They will promote a patient centred approach, ensure effective use of resources, and support the smooth and safe running of the service in line with established policies and procedures. The role includes shift working across days, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
