Full Job Description
As a Ranger, you'll be a champion for nature conservation and the great outdoors, playing a vital role in caring for some of the nation's most treasured countryside for wildlife and people. We have ambitious plans to protect, restore and enhance priority habitats across the Hughenden Property Group, and you'll be at the heart of delivering this work. What you'll be doing This role is part of our outdoors team, helping manage countryside sites across the Chilterns. Rangers are central to our ambitions, delivering Environmental Stewardship work, caring for veteran trees and supporting partnership conservation projects. Working closely with colleagues, communities and key partners across the Chilterns National Landscape, you'll help shape and deliver conservation projects that have a lasting impact on the land and nature we care for. You'll improve habitats, support tenant farmers, care for wildlife, buildings and machinery, and engage communities locally. You'll work 37.5 hours per week, and you should be willing to work some weekends, bank holidays, evenings, and be on call.
If you meet the criteria below, we'd love to hear from you:
- Practically experienced in conservation work to protect and improve habitats and landscapes.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to plan and prioritise work effectively.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and build positive working relationships.
- Confident communicating with a wide range of people to explain conservation work and why it matters.
- Ability to work safely, using risk assessments and following guidelines.
- Able to use machinery and equipment, with relevant certifications.
- A full UK driving licence.
