Full Job Description
This is an exciting opportunity to manage the commercial resources of assigned projects, maximising planned gross margin through effective contract placement and control. You'll play a vital role in assessing and mitigating commercial risks whilst supporting the delivery of major regional projects. Working within our Construction business, you'll be part of a team that values long-term relationships and collaborative working, delivering projects across education, health, defence, and other key strategic sectors.
What will you be responsible for?
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll be working within the Construction team, supporting them in delivering projects safely, on time, and to the required quality. Your day to day will include:
-Managing commercial resources to maximise planned gross margin through effective contract and subcontract placement and control
-Negotiating and agreeing project variations with customers and suppliers to support budgeted profitability
-Measuring and valuing work to support invoicing of customers and payment to suppliers, positively managing cash flows
-Leading and motivating the project's commercial staff, ensuring collaborative relationships across all functions
-Building strong relationships with customers, contractors and subcontractors whilst assessing, controlling and mitigating commercial risks
You have clear communication skills with demonstrable experience communicating effectively with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and the wider supply chain
-You have strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and work to deadlines
-You're flexible, able to work collaboratively as part of a team and using your own initiative
-You're proficient in using IT packages including Microsoft Office and bespoke software
