The opportunity
As Quantity Surveyor at Hitachi Energy, you are part of a team of catalysts for a sustainable future. The demand for energy sector infrastructure is rapidly increasing, and we are looking to add a member to our team who is fully focused on managing all costs relating to building and civil engineering projects, from initial calculations to final accounts.

How you'll make an impact
- Prepare and analyse costing for tenders and contract documents, including bills of quantities with the architect and/or the client.
- Perform risk, value management, and cost control during the project lifecycle.
- Identify, analyse, and develop responses to commercial risks and advise on our procurement strategy.
- Allocate work to subcontractors, value completed work, and manage payments.
- Provide advice on contractual claims, analyse outcomes, and write detailed progress reports.
- Maintain awareness of the different building contracts in current use.
- Understand the implications of health and safety regulations.
Your background
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably within large-scale industrial or infrastructure projects.
- Proven knowledge of construction costs, procurement, and contract law.
- Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., MS Office Suite, quantity surveying software).
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Membership of a professional body (e.g., RICS, CIOB) is desirable.
