Quality and Patient Safety Midwife

The Maternity Quality and Patient Safety Team are seeking a knowledgeable and motivated midwife to join our busy and friendly team on a fixed term basis/secondment for 12 months Maternity Leave cover. The role can be based in either York or Scarborough but will cover the maternity services at both sites. Working hours can be flexible and can be combined with clinical shifts if required. Asa Quality and PatientSafety Midwife,the post holder will take responsibility for leading thematernityaspect of any investigations ofsignificant eventsand patient safety incidents, producing and monitoring action plansthat take place across the maternity and neonatalservices, across both sites. There will bean expectation that you will provide support and information for staff to learn from incidents, taking into consideration human factors and the SEIPSmethodologyas described in the NHS Patient Safety Incident Response Framework. The role will provide assurance that change in practice has been embedded to reduce the risk of re-occurrence., As part ofseekingto become more inclusive, we will consider requests for flexible working from the start of your employment.
