Quality Improvement Coach

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Academy of Research and Improvement as a Quality Improvement (QI) Coach, providing expert QI leadership, coaching and support to the Culture of Care Programme across Mental Health inpatient services.

The role will work in partnership with the Culture of Care Programme Board, clinical and operational teams, people with lived experience, and the Head of Improvement and Participation to design, deliver and evaluate a programme of QI training, coaching and improvement support.

You will help build sustainable improvement capability across Mental Health wards, supporting teams to use evidence-based QI methods, measurement for improvement, co-production and creative engagement approaches to achieve improvements in healthcare for patients, carers and staff.

As part of the Academy of Research and Improvement, you will work alongside colleagues in quality improvement, participation, research, clinical effectiveness, communications, and knowledge services to promote integrated working, share learning and support a culture of continuous improvement across the Trust.

Main duties of the job

Provide specialist QI advice, coaching and training to teams involved in the Culture of Care Programme and wider improvement activity.

Lead and support complex and large-scale improvement initiatives across Mental Health inpatient services using recognised QI methodologies and measurement for improvement.

Design, deliver and evaluate accessible, high-quality QI training, workshops and learning sessions that respond to participant feedback and national and local priorities.

Work with clinical and operational teams, patients, carers and people with lived experience to embed co-production and meaningful involvement within improvement activity.

Support teams to use data, insight and feedback to identify improvement opportunities, test changes, measure impact and plan for sustainability.

Facilitate shared learning through reports, presentations, events, communications and Academy resources, helping spread good practice across the Trust.

Build positive relationships with senior leaders, clinical teams, operational services, community partners and regional or national QI networks.

Contribute to the development of QI governance, resources, processes and learning networks across the Academy and wider organisation.

Role model the Trust values and promote inclusive, creative and psychologically safe ways of working that enable staff, patients and communities to participate in improvement.
