Job Description


My client is looking for a Quality Engineer to join their business on a permanent basis in the Slough area. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding and passion for Lean Manufacturing and will be mainly responsible for improving the quality of the company's operational processes and output.


Attributes of the Quality Engineer:



  • Degree qualified or experience working in a similar role

  • 2 years experience in Manufacturing Environment

  • Self-motivated individual

  • Right first time approach

  • Ability to work calmly under pressure


Role Responsibilities:



  • Drive standardisation on processes along with waste elimination and continuous improvement

  • Support 8D activities on parts connected to internal or supplier quality concerns

  • Work on NPI products and supplier quality development, implementing new processes

  • Develop and maintain quality assurance throughout product development cycle for NPI

  • Responsible for control plans and QA associated with manufacturing processes which are outsourced

  • Collate material compliance data, report writing where necessary

  • Resolve customer issues in a timely manner

  • Champion problem solving with use of RCA tools such as 8D, 5WHY, ISHIKAWA, FMEA's

  • Handle internal & external audits

  • Monitor supplier performance, define process parameters to ensure process capability

  • Monitor output, quality & scrap rates. Improve OTD performance

  • Maintain records of products and approved suppliers

  • Identify, lead and participate in improvement projects - member of the CI team
