Walsall Council is seeking a motivated individual to join our Children with Disabilities (CWD) Team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work collaboratively with families, professionals, and stakeholders to provide high-quality support and services to children with disabilities. If you are committed to promoting the welfare and safeguarding of vulnerable children, we want to hear from you! As a Qualified Social Worker in the CWD Team, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting assessments of children and families to identify needs and develop tailored support plans.
  • Working closely with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure effective service delivery and positive outcomes for children.
  • Providing direct support and intervention to families, ensuring that their voices are heard and needs are met.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records in accordance with statutory requirements and local policies.
  • Participating in regular supervision and team meetings to reflect on practice and enhance professional development.

    To be considered for this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
  • A relevant Social Work qualification (e.g., BA/MA in Social Work).
  • Registered with Social Work England.
  • Experience working with children and families, particularly those with disabilities.
  • Strong assessment, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating resilience and adaptability.
