Full Job Description

Join the dedicated team at CAFCASS as a Qualified Social Worker in our Children's FCA division based in Stevenage. This is a permanent position where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the welfare and safety of children and families within the community. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting assessments, planning interventions, and providing ongoing support to children and families involved in family court proceedings. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families to determine needs and risks.
  • Developing and implementing care plans in collaboration with families and other professionals.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Participating in court proceedings and providing expert testimony as required.
  • Working collaboratively with multi-agency teams to ensure cohesive support for children and families.

    A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Social Work Degree, DipSW, CQSW).
  • Current Social Work England registration.
  • At least 2 years of post-qualification experience in children's social work.
  • Strong understanding of child protection legislation and family court processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children and families.
