Full Job Description

This role would suit an individual with a desire to combine clinical practice whilst developing their broader leadership skills, in order to influence service delivery and to provide the highest quality of care for our patients. This is an opportunity to become a qualified trauma therapist as well as gaining further experience in trauma-informed care. Although you will be allocated for long term male rehabilitation ward, the whole site consists of a male long term low secure ward, a male acute ward and two PICUs; one male, one female with adapted trauma informed care as well. The role may therefore extend to supporting other patients with EMDR. Working for our organisation You will join a large team of registered Psychologists based across our 3 sites (Northampton, Birmingham and Essex) and our Community Partnerships division. As such, there will be lots of support but also great opportunities for people to progress in their future too. Our purpose is to provide hope and our staff have helped us create a set of values that embody who we are and what were here to do. They are:

  • We focus on what matters most
  • We treat others how we would like to be treated
  • We are passionate and creative in our work
  • We are one team and we are best when we work together
  • Our patients are at the heart of all we do and we believe that hope is not just about the treatments and services we provide, but about giving our patients the best possible experience and view of the future.

Role will be suitable for an experienced Clinical / Forensic or Counselling Psychologist or a Clinical / Forensic or Counselling Psychologist due to gain HCPC Registration in next 6 months Are you looking for a leadership opportunity combined with ongoing clinical experience? We are seeking a compassionate and creative individual to lead and inspire our Trauma Informed Clinical and Forensic Work. This exciting opportunity is for a HCPC registered Clinical/ Forensic/ Counselling Psychologist. The successful applicant will manage workload within a long term rehabilitation ward consisting of working age men, demonstrating leadership skills and an ability to work with a wide variety of people. As this will be clinical and therapeutic work, it is essential that you have clinical skills and knowledge from the area of trauma as well as a developmental understanding of individuals. You will work closely with other psychologists and be supported by an assistant psychologist allocated to the ward. Supervision skills would be beneficial, but are not an essential criteria for this role. Knowledge of trauma-informed care would be advantageous but we are able to provide training in this field in order to utilise DBT and EMDR.

We are St Andrews. We are a thriving charity, and our vision is a society in which everyone living with mental health need is heard, valued and has hope for their future. We help people to overcome barriers, and we work tirelessly to help people in our care to find hope. Are you full of curiosity and ideas? Are you inspired to do the right thing every day, living by our CARE values of Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Excellence? Then come join us. Lets transform lives together.
