Full Job Description

  • You will be responsible for providing a safe, efficient and effective imaging and Breast Mammography service for the West Norfolk Breast screening service in accordance with Screening and Trust protocols. They will ensure a high-quality Mammography service is maintained at all times.
  • You will demonstrate expertise in Breast Imaging techniques by promoting high standards of diagnostic radiography through best practice and education and by maintaining and developing high standards of patient care and best practice amongst peers, student colleagues and users of the breast imaging service.
  • You will take an active role in the development of the breast mammography service in order to continuously improve patient safety and experience and will be responsible for the organisation and coordination of the staff rotating through the mammography rooms.
  • You will practice advanced clinical skills in mammography including stereotactic within approved guidelines and working to given protocols.

    BSc (Radiography) or The Diploma of the College of Radiographers
  • Postgraduate/ Post Registration Certificate of Competence in Mammography
  • Masters level qualification in: Advanced Interventional Breast Techniques or Image Interpretation
  • Current Full UK driving licence, Aware of Trust policies
  • Post graduate experience in mammography
  • Demonstrates excellent clinical skills
  • Evidence of appropriate participation in CPD
  • Knowledge of IR(ME)R
  • Skills, abilities and knowledge,
  • Have high professional standards and skills, with the ability to work quickly to a consistently high standard
  • To have analytical, evaluation and, numeracy skills, along with a common sense approach
  • To be perceptive, to rapidly assess and respond to patient's needs
  • Identify and promote change and improvements to the breast imaging service
  • Encourage good practice through research, clinical audit and continuous improvement teams
