QHSE Advisor

ROLE: QHSE Advisor HOURS: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday LOCATION: Sellafield - Seascale Mitie are seeking a proactive and experienced QHSE Advisor to join us working in a highly regulated environment, supporting the delivery of safe, compliant, and efficient operations. Reporting to the QHSE Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring our business management systems remain robust, compliant, and practical-aligned with quality, health, safety, and environmental standards. You will work closely with operational teams to minimise risk, support compliance, and drive continuous improvement across all QHSE activities.

• Main Duties
• Risk & Compliance
+ Identify and implement strategies to reduce risk to people, property, and the environment + Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and industry best practice + Carry out specialist risk assessments (e.g. COSHH, manual handling, DSE, significant risk) Operational Support + Support operational managers in developing safe systems of work + Provide expert advice and guidance on QHSE matters to staff and management + Ensure managers understand and meet legal and company responsibilities Incident Management & Reporting + Investigate accidents and incidents and produce QHSE performance data + Manage documentation linked to insurance claims and incidents + Produce reports and support audits, meetings, and training activities Continuous Improvement & Engagement + Support implementation of the integrated management system + Contribute to QHSE strategy development and delivery + Engage with teams through forums, meetings, and training sessions + Represent QHSE at regional meetings when required What we are looking for
• NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent) or higher
• Working towards or holding Tech IOSH (with progression to Cert IOSH)
• Experience within manufacturing, industrial, or multi-site environments
• Background in facilities management or similar sectors (desirable)
• Strong understanding of risk assessment and H&S management processes
• Ability to investigate incidents and analyse performance data
• Good IT skills (Microsoft Office)
